Dave’s Take: I like a standard J Bass neck - narrow nut width and a wider taper towards the bridge. I’ve always been partial to the sound of a hollow-body bass, but most of these have a narrower neck taper. I also like a 35” scale length for its snap. So I decided to make a bass with a J-style neck on a hollow body with a snappy 35” scale length in the style of the Cuyler electric guitar.
